MARCH 27, 2020
To our Valued Clients:
As a follow-up to our March 24, 2020 correspondence regarding Bill 751, we attach the final bill which was signed by Governor Tom Wolf today. The provisions addressing the COVID-19 pandemic are unchanged from the language reported to you in our previous correspondence.
We also attach the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, which was signed into law today by President Trump. The CARES Act is the third package addressing the COVID-19 pandemic and it creates the Education Stabilization Fund which includes $30.75 billion for education, provides additional funding for Project SERV (School Emergency Response to Violence), and authorizes the Secretary of Education to grant new statutory and regulatory requirement waivers, at the request of State and local education agencies.
Please contact our firm with any questions regarding the above new law and how it may affect your school.
