We are experienced in handling Union organization efforts, Unfair Labor Practice Charges, Union negotiations and other matters that fall under the National Labor Relations Act. Our Firm handles all phases of administrative or civil litigation which may arise from Union organization efforts and Unfair Labor Practice charges. For companies who have Union representation, we assist in the negotiation of collective bargaining agreements, handle arbitrations and Unfair Labor Practice charges, as well as provide advice on the continuing relationship with Unions and unionized employees.
We regularly represent clients on matters arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, The Americans with Disabilities Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, the Equal Pay Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act, the Educator Discipline Act, the Family Medical and Leave Act, Equal Employment Opportunity, and many other federal, state, and local laws governing the employer/employee relationship. We have defended employers accused of violating these laws in numerous state and federal agencies and courts. We are aware that any employment or labor matter may require litigation as an integral part of representation. Our litigation experience in Employment and Labor Law is extensive. Although our efforts are directed to litigation avoidance, should litigation commence, we are prepared to achieve the best possible results for our clients.
We take pride in our diversified Employment and Labor Practice Group, providing valuable advice to our clients with regard to employee benefits, occupational safety and health concerns, as well as with regard to immigration and citizenship law. With regard to employee benefits law, we are skilled in addressing ERISA and COBRA compliance issues. We can assist in the development of retirement plans, employment agreements and deferred compensation plans. Additionally, our attorneys are experienced in litigating disputes that arise under ERISA.
We counsel schools on a variety of employment matters including: anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, contract review, employee handbook development and review, employee policies, and acceptable use/social media policies and issues, trainings for Board members, administrators and staff, and regularly provide legal updates.
